The Rod Shop

• The Rod Shop started in Columbus Ohio and was owned and managed by Gil Kirk and partner Jim Thompson. It was a well know speed, engine shop in the mid-sixties running many different cars, most Chevy powerd. In 1970, Gil and Jim made a deal with Chrysler to run all Dodge. They recived eight cars backed by Dodge. With it's all American red, white and blue paint scheme and drivers, it became one of the most recognizable and successful race teams of the sport of drag racing.
